Peter Walter loves the balance between the intellectual exercise of doing science and the hands-on activities of wood and metal working. He shares with us some of the wonderful pieces of art he has created and the stories behind them.
About the speaker
As well as being a skilled artisan, Peter Walter is Professor of Biochemisty and Biophysics at the University of California, San Francisco and a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator. Recently, Dr. Walter was awarded the 2012 Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize for his work on the unfolded protein response. See more about his lab at http://walterlab.ucsf.edu/
